I haven't seen that dark of CC Kelso before. Everything I have seen is Light colored hackle feathers around the neck and some white under those hackle feathers. So I don't know Loyce Derouen but if that is his fowl, he sure is pretty. YFIS, T-bone

It’s my understanding that Jason Campbell and Jerry Adkins bought most if not all of Loyce Duran’s fowl before he passed. This is a cock I bred from brood stock I bought from Jerry a few years ago. They hold their own.

Check out the thread by pigiron and see just how wide spread they are and why so many different families of them. The machine, ro,rn,and others. It's more information than I care to remember but explains a lot. I am happy with what I have and have seen many good ones from other sources. I think they fall out of the trees around here.

What year did u get this cock direct from loyce ? Which line of kelso is this ? He favors the RORN line a little. I got my RORN line direct from loyce when i was 12 years old. I was born and raised about 3 miles as the crow flies from loyce. Wish i still had them . Very very very hard to find the real deal anymore. Only person i know of that still has the real deal is a good friend of mine in South La . He got them from Loyce direct also and was pretty good buddies with him and he kept them about as close as ive ever seen of what loyce had

Yes sir ive talked to jimmy several times .. He has the RORN line . He told me he had bred twotds the lemon hackle side for years so his come more lemon hackle now. Every ince in a while his will come dark like the cock above Tim aka Bamaokie got his from a guy that i know well by the name of Pookie . They shohld b the good ones to. He was good friends witb Clyde and Shane Derouen which Clyde was Loyces other Son. I grew up close to all these guys and knkw them all pretty well. Clyde passed away quite a few years ago and his son shane no longer has fowl anymore i dont belive . So jimmy is the only one in the Derouen family to still have the kelso

Still kicking, just not to high, had 3 operations in 2019, removed my bladder and prostate, doing fairly well, will be 78 in a few months, the golden years are not worth a damn, still raise a few to keep blood going, none for sale as I can not do as much as I use to and will try to show a few this year. Good luck to everyone. Jimmy Derouen
