Re: jerry laurence...
No sir, he is a yellow legged ALBANY, but not that yellow like my pure Allen RH. The way he stands I think he has a dash of Asil in him.
Here is another one of his offspring to a 1/2 Claret - 1/2 Whitehackle hen also from Jerry Lawrence......
1/2 Albany - 1/4 Claret - 1/4 Whitehackle

Re: jerry laurence...
Sir epg5. Greetings from NYC on father's day. Your JBL island born birds look awesome. Jerry is a good breeder and a very good person to deal with. I got a brown red trio that are now in the breeding pens in the PI. We might be in Manila at the same time at the end of this year. Let's get together to compare notes on the breeding of these gamefowls. We lost a broodcock and a broodhen during the heat of summer in the islands. Thus far, the JBL trio is fine. I will take you to the backyard farm we established in the PI on leased property. We visited a farm upstate New york two days ago and it appears to be a good source of the butcher blood line. Hope to see you in Manila. Regards.

Re: jerry laurence...
Sounds good Sir!!! I've been interested in obtaining BrownReds too, but since I already have my Sid Taylors from Jerry and Red Quills from Ron Lutz I will wait and see how their crosses turn out. I haven't had any luck breeding pure Sid Taylors these past 2 breeding seasons. Let me know how those Butchers look as long as they are RED, hehehe. I expect to be home around October 20th; hope to see you there so we can visit.

Re: jerry laurence...
Hi Guys,
Just want to ask if anyone of you tried JBL's Muff? I've checked in his website and found that he's selling them. I'm interested in getting a muff broodstag from him.

Re: jerry laurence...
Sir warbats, no I have not tried his muffs but would be interested in getting more information. I have good experience in the handling of our birds from JBL Farm. It's all I could say, and I got a nice trio of brown reds he selected himself.

Re: jerry laurence...
.... those were good birds when the old man in the 70-80's were breeding them. A good friend obtained from the son and was not happy with it.

Re: jerry laurence...
I just don't have any interest with them because of their station. I'm competing in the LK and everybody down in the PI wants medium to high station birds 'coz they're worried about the reach as you know.

EPG5 can't you easily correct that. You do have oriental grades and you can cross you'r short station american fowl to a high station oriental. I have a small american hen that looks like a bantam and I cross her to a jap/asil cross that looks like a turkey. The offspring's come out looking good.

Re: jerry laurence...
My 2 Orientals that came from Jerry are not the tall type . They definitely stand 'straight-up' which makes them look tall, but nothing like the KULANG Asils.

Re: jerry laurence...
This is a product from the breeding fowl I got from Jerry. This is a 1/2 Kelso (from Jerry's yellow legged Kelso) - 1/4 Jap - 1/4 Lacy RH baby stag that was born this January......

Re: jerry laurence...
Team-SBU, is that a Bob Bennette Grey stag? What is their fighting style? Are they medium station? It's so hard to find high station fowl.

Re: jerry laurence...
Thanks again EPG.... Jerry has a Black family and one has white legs, muff and toppy ... it should be a cross right ? Or would you know if he has been maintaining them as a family? I don't know of any Black blood with muff and toppy and has white legs. When I asked him... he said.... don't ask anything about that bird... then we continued walking...

Re: jerry laurence...
The Lynwood Kelso are white legged. He also has his own JBL Kelsos which are yellow legged. I have both .
I guess that 'black' funny looking fowl is one of his experiments . The only black fowl I got from him was a pair of Sid Taylors, one Black McRae stag and one Black McRae pullet that supposedly have 1/4 peruvian blood, but she is small/short (I may have gotten the very last left over of the brood ).

Re: jerry laurence...
Jerry Lawrence is a good and honest person to deal with, he is a nice guy. I'm getting a pair of Red Doms from him, he's all about customer satisfaction. He even called me himself to what kind of combs do i want pair to have. He was in the process of selecting my pair, and i simply wanted "pea comb", and he said with no hesitation "Ok, i got that for you". He cares a lot for the birds he sends out. Can't wait for my Doms to arrive here Hawaii in October, as Jerry wont ship during the summer heat, its way to risky for the birds health. I will be a life long customer of Jerry's birds. I trust the man when it comes to choosing the right birds. I'm glad there are people out there like Jerry we can trust!

Re: jerry laurence...
Sir silver,
Don't make fun of my birds for no one makes fun of your birds here... it was a gift to me from Jerry Lawrence when I got a dom and a pair of whites.

That's not the same Lynwood Kelso you saw because I got him in Dec. 2010 .
That's a very unique combination: Black Irish or maybe a Sid T - Muff - Toppy. Please let me know how they turn out. Where did his FEGs come from? Maybe I'll get a pair if they're not short .
