It would be hard to say haven't seen a lot shown lately. It is an old time breed with bitter gameness. Used to to see Ruble being shown in Mexico a couple of years ago but have been replaced with faster green legged fowl like Leipers, Penny and Mcleans. Also, the better Rubles ended up in Mexico. That is where Billy sold most of his fowl.

Re: Ruble Hatches
As a Hatch breeder i have ruble among other hatch lines... my ruble were imported to australia and sourced by Roy bingham i like them alot they have a great deal of desire to win as for speed they aint a flash stepping fowl, they are not a stupid hatch and will hold there own even when they are "obviously out-classed " the more they are hurt the more hatred they lash out ..dont take my word for it but im sure billy ruble used blueface and also injected muff into there make up anyone else heard this???

Re: Ruble Hatches
we can not exactly tell what a breeder put in it's fowl some years ago...but we certainly know that harold brown, curtis blackwell, and billy rubles were sometimes partners and shared breeding materials with each other...yet, each breeder shows different faces and styles of their own...james sylvester hatch shared lineage with this fowls and in my own honest opinion can outclass a ruble hatch that billy breed many years ago...

i remember reading the are a cross of Mclean and blueface. that he was adding new blood to freshen up the blueface but the the oringinal cross proved to be better than either line. in other words he bred to performance.

Sorry to hear about what happened, whatever happened 'coz I don't know .
Anyways, you're in the right website as far as finding some good birds. I don't know him, bit I suggest you get a hold of ZACDADDY (send him a private message) who has these great looking Black Trotters (that's what they look like to me) and he can point you in the right direction for other birds you're looking for

Re: Ruble Hatches
O yes ive heard of the good cocks ruble fought in PI that was left with Eddie Arenneta would come muff and tassle which show the kozora blood in them, the ones he sold didnt, a lot of them ive seen in the states was just dumb bill holding hatch roosters,i think what he fought and what he sold were not the same, when i called him he asked me one question,do you want to buy anything or not ,so i kindly said no thank you!

Re: Ruble Hatches
bob howard (ohio) does have a nice selection of 2012 Ruble pullets, he also has hens 1-2-3 years old available. bob has ruble-mclean, ruble-blueface, and ruble-lemons.

Re: Ruble Hatches
The above pic was on a pervious thread on this site. The man who has these fowl is in Oregon and his name is Mr.Witham his contact number is 503-324-8841. I spoke to him earlier in the year and he was sold out. He did tell me he sold them cheap but given that the demand was so high he was going to bump up the price. At that time I couldn't get him to give me a price.
