Perry I agree...this August 4th meeting is so important for the group...after the stag season is set we also should consider a VP being the last I heard we didn't have one...we need to establish a core group of officers that will work with each other oppose to working against. I am concerned that all concerned hasn't been notified about the upcoming meeting.

Thanks for the concern, actually I was planning to text and post on Monday re-meeting on Saturday Aug. 4 because I did not want to disturb the Treasurer and the Secretary who are both working for the derby today for the Nadongholan Fiesta a successful one, aside from evading the asking for the weights of my birds as I was invited to join also but since my handler said all my bullstags and cocks are already on full molting, sad to say no to a friend but just keep silent hex3.

Thanks Perry for your kind words. EVGBA is a Philippine association and I truly believe it should be run by Filipinos/Filipinas. With that being said, I would with great pleasure set on some type of board to help oversee the mechanics and transparency of EVGBA. It might be a good time to hold elections so that we can fill any empty seats we have within. Maybe Ed can help by posting the officers and board members for us to see where the vacancies are. I would like to see us(EVGBA) use our own website on Multiply to conduct business and all our financial matters and documents be posted on the accounting website. We could use our website to inform the members of meetings, banding dates, seminars, how members are doing in other derbies around our area and also members promotions about our area. Who is the Administrator of the Multiply site???

Just some more thoughts,

There are four(4) listed administrators in our multiply site: Cholo Franco, Matias Fajardo, Dr. Teodoro Parena and myself and as far as the list of officers and the board members, if we base it on our SEC Registration we will be lost as only me and bai Luis Alilin are left on the list who are still active in the meetings. We have listed additional board members before bai Raffy Marinez for the Biliran Province and bai Earl Nuñez for the Baybay/Southern Leyte somehow our documents submitted to the SEC in the following year did not reflect their names anyway, both are no longer active for our regular meetings. I think we even appointed Patrick Makabenta as member of the board of directors but the same story as the other two there was no board resolution in effect. So for this matter, only me and bai Luis Alilin as the making of bai Ramon Conopio as Treasurer was of course discussed by the board but after that, there was no board resolution again. You see, so many irregularities in this association just for us to keep going but one thing that is a big factor to this is the absence of a permanent secretary. I don’t know which is which we used to have the so-called national secretary of Doc Sonny at that time bai Cholo and me took turns of making the minutes of the meetings during our regular board meetings. At times, Doc Sonny can attend the meeting at that's the time we have a meeting with the real secretary around. Obviously that system was not effective at all.

The bottom line, we need complete reconstruction of our system. New people in the board, etc.

You are welcome and you are correct re-working committee although very essential to make things happen. Ed Baena’s case will be added to the agenda in this coming meeting.

What I can say is, all the officers and members of the board were appointed through post in the sabong.net and the guy who appointed them is no longer with us or had moved to another place outside EVGBA jurisdiction. At that time, we have just finished the 1st ever cock derby in Baybay and that post caught the limelight of everybody as we were in dire need of a table of organization sort of another start for something to begin. The rest is history, said officers/members of the board were inducted in Tanauan Gallera during the 2nd EVGBA derby, the 1st EVGBA Stag Derby, you were there with Raul Ebeo as our screener remember, September 17, 2005. For the record, there has never been an election done for our more than 7 years of existence as an organization. Things you said are very inspiring and this will be our new slogan “Stay Loyal and do what is asked of you and things will be better very soon”, would you agree. Anyway “We need a Board of Directors ASAP” we will include also in the discussion in this coming meeting and by the way, I forgot that I talked to the son of the mayor of Naval personally during one of the derbies in Villaba and he agreed to be listed as one of the members of the board.

According to the Corporation law of the Philippines, the governing law for stock and non-stock corporations, associations such as NFGB and EVGBA, the members elect the of board of directors/trustees of the association. The board of trustees will then elect the officers of the association among themselves. The officers will be the President, Vice President, secretary and the Treasurer. The term of office of the board of trustees and officers shall be for one year.
