Re: only three roosters allowed in la co ?
A quick reading of that seems that you need a $100 licence to operate an "Animal Facility" for 1 to 3 roosters. An Animal Facility, amongst many other onerous things must have smoke alarms and a working fire supression system such as a sprinkler system in each "room" where animals, including roosters are kept. Roosters to be kept in an "acoustic structure", roosters not to be tethered, etc etc. Does your house have sprinkler systems in each room (see item J page 12)? Madness beyond belief. Effectively this seems to ban roosters altogether. How come hens don't need all this kit? Are they lesser citizens in LA COunty? LOL

Re: only three roosters allowed in la co ?
This $hit is working its way EVERYWHERE. I don't know what the answer is for this. My only conclusion is to keep the birds in a sound proof structure where NO ONE can hear them period. I've heard of people who are already doing this BEFORE they are asked to keep 10 or less birds. The whole point is to keep yourself off the radar. I see no other way of doing this.
So, if you can try and make it so no one even knows you have birds.

Re: only three roosters allowed in la co ?
Well it unfortunate that the add on to the law passed. But like most of the laws are they won't enforce them unless they get a complaint. But now the have tge means to get on your property and that really sucks. And that is the reason that I've been talking to my wife and we are considering moving up north.

Re: only three roosters allowed in la co ?
this looks like a proposal that was just made. people that live down there need to get on top of this and find out where the board meetings are and exspress there oposition. if u sit on your azz and do nothing this will become law. they need to get every rooster man in the area to speak out against this and show up. solano county got it shoved threw because only one man spoke out against it. id talk to the local APG chapter and see if there is anything they can do as well. i wouldnt take this sh!t from these idiots that know nothing about roosters or any other animals.

That's the problem! Everyone complaints but few actually do something about it, get together and express your disagreement with it!

Re: only three roosters allowed in la co ?
We have state game fowl breeders organizations that receive contributions. Where are they now? If they were serious. They would fight these small battles just to have birds. It has to start somewhere. The battle has little to do with using the birds. Its about just having them now.

Re: only three roosters allowed in la co ?
gee whiz!!! you complaining?! i live in one of the suburbs of manila and unfortunate for me the social climbers were able to pass an ordinance banning poultry, cocks specially because of the crowing!!!(swastika signs, daggers and multiple excalamation points) and all the while jet aircraft and falling airplanes are the norm in my little barrio! i can even spot a rottweiler roaming the streets in front of a security post! i guess the idiots here are more afraid of a chicken crossing the street than a 200lb canine capable of shredding a full grown human to shreds! yup we breed stupidity over here!

Re: only three roosters allowed in la co ?
There is plenty of info in the laws and politics thread that can be used to beat that law. You guys need band together you can have this law over turned if you us the right info and don't have crooked politicians (lol) and if you do you need to get them voted out...
