DUMAGETE here we come at siguradong naka pointing tayong dalawa BOW at subok na mga cutter itong mga darating doon.

Re: Bigay and Hiram Lines

May prospect na from San Fernando, Pampanga.

Nung last November Bakbakan Elims nanuod kami sa Gumaca, Quezon Province. Bihira kasi kaming nakakita na may side-step or atras pa ilag.

CUTTING COMMENTS
By Mike Allen

AS THE MAJORITY OF knowledgeable cockers rate cutting ability on their list of priorities. I’d like to share my comments on the variables that accentuate good cutting gamecocks. Although good cutters are products of the brood yard, we should admit that such qualities might be obviated by other influences. I’ve seen very little written on this subject, and would appreciate some comments from others in this regard.

What could possibly be complex about a natural ability? We might compare good cutting to those abilities displayed by other athletes, as boxers. To become established you must possess very keen eyesight, good nerves, coordination and proper muscular development. The art of masterful cutting by our fowl may be antagonized or greatly influenced by the improper development of the muscles, which control the proper execution of strokes.

In any case, we should not be so prone to merely shrug off the lack of good cutting as an excuse for losing. To stimulate our critical and analytical capacities, why was our cock not cutting? In the beginning we must know our fowls by studying them earnestly under all situations. By using common sense in the solutions, which arise from the many contingencies of bad cutters, then scientific principles are in order.

We must have a formula for good cutting. A prerequisite we must successfully perpetuate is a uniform and healthy strain of fowl. Let’s glance at the Liza Galore combine who has stuck with the Rubles as long as we care to remember. This is advantageous in knowing the history of your fowl both genetically and individually. The importance of sticking to one good strain over a long period of years cannot be denied, as you can determine if these fowl are nervous, impulsive, and cunning and possess the inherent ability to cut efficiently. By maintaining such a strain you will soon realize that the consideration of good cutting is a built in factor, and will require only the right influences to bring it out. These influences have been discussed many times through many keeps as conditioning or feeding.
Let’s consider the physiology of muscle activity, and equally important, the skeletal system and its development. In cutting we must consider the skeletal muscles, and to a lesser degree the cardiac or heart muscle. Not a few cockers control the heart muscle through the use of drugs. However, it is the skeletal muscles, which are of primary concern, because of their effecting adjustments to their external environment.

Having locomotory appendages of both legs and wings, our game cocks are extremely mobile. With the wings giving balance while the legs are in motion, let’s admit that the skeletal and muscular system display striking functional similarities. The importance of the proper growth and development of the skeleton cannot be overly emphasized. Then it comes at no surprise that the functioning of both the wing and leg muscles in combat, reveal equally significant functions. We have all witnessed a cock trying to cut without the use of a wing muscle, which had been disabled.
