PFGB Releases Digmaan Sked

The 42-association Philippine Federation of Gamefowl Breeders announced yesterday the complete schedule of their forthcoming 1st Annual Digmaan “Pasabong Pambansa” 9-Stag Derby.

Composed of 171 separate stag battles to be held from as far as Tuguegarao City in Cagayan to as deep south as Zamboanga del Sur and Basilan, the more than two and a half month Digmaan kicks of on October 13, 2012 at the Dipolog Coliseum in Dipolog City, Zamboanga del Norte with the members of the Breeders and Cockers Association of Zanorte fighting against each other in their own 2-stag eliminations.

The 1st Annual Digmaan “Pasabong Pambansa” 9-Stag Derby stakes a guaranteed cash prize of P10,000,000.00 for a easily affordable entry fee of P6,600. Derby format is 2-stag elims, 3-stag semis at 4-stag finals.

“Digmaan is a stag competition for the gamefowl breeding masses”, say PFGB President Wilson Ong.

“In cockfighting every rooster has a chance to win, but because of prohibitive entry fees, these birds are not given the chance to fight and prove their mettle in the ring. Digmaan, because of its low entry fee requirement and huge prize, will enable the lowliest and the poorest gamefowl breeder to get to test his produce and have the chance to hit the jackpot”, Ong added.

Digmaan will have its grand finals at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on December 1, 2012 when the champion/s will be known.

This question arised because we happened to hear that Bakbakan banded stags were allowed for the Semis...
