GFBAN 8 Stag Derby Negros Coliseum
MassKara derby stakes P6 million
About P6 million is at stake in the 2005 8-Stag MassKara Derby that will be held from Oct. 15 to 25 at the Negros Coliseum.
The stag derby, which is organized by the Game Fowl Breeders Association of Negros, is expected to draw more than 300 entries, Al Garcia, president of GF-BAN, said.
It is an exciting year for GF-BAN since it is the biggest stag derby to be held by the organization so far, he added.
Aside from GF-BAN banded stags, wingbanded stags of the National Federation of Gamefowl Breeders Association members may also compete in the event provided their game fowls will be subject to GF-BAN screening rules, he said.
The entry fee for the stag derby is pegged at P23,500.
The elimination round will take place from Oct. 15 to 19, while the semifinal matches will be held from Oct. 21 to 22.
The championship rounds will be from Oct. 24 to 25.
Meanwhile, P1 million will be given by the GFBAN-NFGBA to the winner of the 5-Stag Derby that will be staged from Nov. 10 to 14 at the Negros Coliseum.
The two associations will also award 2005 GFBAN-NGBA Stage Breeder of the Year to the breeder who posts the highest cumulative score in the GF-BAN 8-Stag MassKara Derby or the GFBAN-NFGBA 5-Stag Derby.

Hey Chuck,
I am just assuming that Joey Lacson should be fielding an entry or entries since this is the most awaited derby among breeders in Negros Occ. together with NGBA 8 stag and 7 stag Balbina Cup derbies. Venue of GFBAN will be in Negros Coliseum. Nice and breezy due to its location close to the sea. This pit is located in the heart of the City of Bacolod

Datu Tusik,
Where are you now....have you finalized your move to the West Coast?
Since we have no way of watching the event in P.I. , we will just wait for the VCD coverage.
We will be monitoring closely the entries of Elwin Javellosa, B Coscoluella and S Uybico combine and Al Garcia..

Malden, I am in California now. Good luck to your entries as well. I am sure this will be a successful derby as most breeders in Negros prepare their stags now. Breeders are anxious to show their produce this year. Masskara Festival is also celebrated simultaneously. Lots of food and drinks in the downtown area. Wish I can go home and witness this events.

Datu Tusik,
Any more update/s on this year's 8-stag at GFBAN?
We've heard that the possible number of participants might reach 300.
GMGF is one of those who think, 'baka sakali'.
This will be Steve's 2nd try at GFBAN.

Doc Malden, malapit na eto.. Good luck to all participants..
Gerochi/Millan Game Farm (GMGF) and Tribu JEG-26, Great competition for sure but good preparation and conditioning will do wonders. Both your handlers are capable to win last year during Candelaria and Balbina derbies. With a little luck on your side, we hope to see your names in the paper..
as the sayings go "BASI PA LANG YA"
Good luck to your entries.

1 win 2 losses
Winged Creator,
Our entry was handled by Morito Garcia.
According to a sketchy report from Bacolod City, our first stag, a Hatch/Kelso won against somebody from Manila?
Second stag, Kelso/Albany, lost a close fight/long battle, even with internal organ eviscerations, against Juancho Aguirre.
Third stag, Hatch/Kelso lost to Felix Trebol.
What can I say... till next time.
Don't know how Jeg_26 is doing.

Doc Malden, Lady luck was not on your side this time. I heard from the grapevine that the others Morito conditioned didn't do well either like E. Javelosa and A. Garcia. Surely most of them will re-enter for the second set.
Good luck on your entry in Dumaguete in the next few days. Bawi na lang kayo ulit.
JEG-26 can surely update the status of his entry.
There' ll be next year... Learn from mistakes on keep on chugging along.
