DVH blacks are verygood and early maturer. Zamboanga black of Manny Dalipe's stable are equally impressive. Neene abello has black too but not as popular as his reds.
I am not a fan of RB fowls, sorry!

I don't have any blacks from them but if I have to choose, I take R. Bates black. Richard Bates was a stag Derby Champion straight 7 cocks won all using blacks. Can you beat that?
I have Black Simms trio right now and will test the offspring's might on Stag Derby 2007.

Blacks...Red...Greys...Brown reds, it don't matter. What matter is how you condition them cocks.
Richard Bates was a handler in states before he decided to be a breeder and in P.I. not in states.
Thats why conditioning a cockfighter or battlecock is his specialty.
DVH, is a breeder cocker. He hire a handler to condition his battlecocks. See the difference?

RB
RB was the handler of the known Dante Silverio before, kaya ang farm nya nasa Silang. So please ask RB where are the big businesses of Don Dante Silverio? As I know RB is conditioning the fights of Danding Cojuangco's stable, so please don't get wrong.
Bakit pa sya nag handle to date kon sustainable ang money making sa own breeding nya as the like of DVH & Zamboanga's.
His known bloodline is his bigtail.

Try visiting the 30 hectares DVH Farm in Don Salvador Benedicto, Negros Occ. Maybe it will give you a better perspective of his farm and facilities. Lots of quality fowls to choose from... as in thousands..
Fowls win because of its fighting characteristics. Handling is only a small portion of the equation. Breeding and healthy rearing from a very young age to maturing as a cock is the biggest factor in winning. You can hire any good handler if you have good fowls. As a matter of fact any handler will be coming if they see the qualities of the fowl.
Like I said it is a matter of consistency and DVH shows that year in/year out for now and maybe years to come.
Check this out.

as for the hinlo blacks, they actually (bloodline) got their spurs from cagayan de oro. dvh was still under contract to breed fowls for pbrj........pbrj fowls was whipped by local breeder ry everytime they meet at the pits..even pbrj's fabled "bodlat" lines...ry bred and fought these blacks and have won a lot of derbies using these fowls.....dvh, the wise and very smart breeder that he is, scquired a bunch of these blacks from ry to propagate...very mean cutting fowls...full frontal, full contact fowls and very game...specially when crossed to dvh's greys...the dvh bkacks are great but the dirty greys(crossed)are meaner...just ask edmundo....dvh is a legend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! in cag de oro, we call these fowls the slim fernandez, the slim benoist came from de sagun.........

 look for these traits if you want to acquire dvh blacks: lead colored shanks(tingga),medium-high station,red..brown red eyes(not black). with patches of black around the eyes, not black face....straight comb!!!!!!not brown red in color, but darker abit more..you've got his winning line!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the key to the success of dvh blacks is the slim benoist blood, he has won with it ....slim bodlat, slim dan gray, slim jimmy east....he has won it all........dvh whites???????????? ask the missus....mrs dvh, that is......these whites are the meanest of them all..but you can only fight them if they're 3-4 years old..4-6x winners....if and only if dvh will let you have them...but then again, ask the missus!!!!!!!!!

mabols_libero
correction sir, DVH & pbrj are business partners.
he does'nt have contract to breed fowl for PBRJ.
bodlat, slimbenoist hatch, greys, whites crosses those were the old lines of DVH during the 80's to the late 90's...
yes u'r rigth that the slimbenoist broodcock came from CAPT. JOE DE SAGUN.
and now wer talking about dvh blacks in the 20th century...
for me they were awesome rooster...
but many people asking how he develops his blacks, he replied
thats my secret...
cheers!!!!!!!!!
