Re: Good Base Line
Master Butch.... naks... ok lang talaga namang pwede kang i consider as a master breeder eh... first of all I'll either of the two will do when it come to gameness and multiple shuffling ability... but the thing is... only the blue face can give a good vertical... attack that you will never find in other strains of the hatch family.... that's is why I'll go with the blue face... he can strike from top to bottom and when he let go of your rooster... its the end of the game...... thanks and God bless you you all

Re: Good Base Line
yup!both are solid bloodline,i been using blueface hatch as my base blood since early 90`s be it in the stag or cock fights they remain the same, they really have a big heart of winning
you can count on their gameness, cutting and power,in my experience they blend well with allen roundhead, dan gray roundhead and kelso.there are new breed of hatches nowadays but stay with blueface, for more than two decades they never changed, 85% of winning is not bad....

Re: Good Base Line
Small Timer is right. Both strain of hatches are good, it could be set as one family then see how it works. Good luck!

Re: Good Base Line
I just dont feel that anyone can have much if any of the real blueface blood in there from what ive been able to study of sweater mcginnis and his fowl upon his passing, but i havent had alot of luck finding viable resources to study either, but ted mclean was a good breeder, but he added alot of things in his lines to make those fowl so good, but seeing as i like simplicity in my fowl, so that the variable will be cut down, i think id go with the blueface bloods if i knew thats what i was getting, as sweater didnt mix alot of things together in his fowl so much as just breeding to improve it within the family by sheer selection.. both men had high quality fowl, and even higher standards .. they both passed along lines that still win the majority today many years after.. mcginnis passed down some of the best grey blood the world has or will ever see!

Re: Good Base Line
i'd say both lines are good as your base/foundation, just infuse whatever other line (personally a 2-way cross to come up with 1/2, 1/4-1/4 theoretically) that would best compliment both hatch lines when it comes to the long knife....but then, you should know the pedigree of these hatches...it all depends on where you get the stocks from and this is also to know their traits and style. It would be an advantage when you start with a seedfowl that comes from a known breeder...and it's quite obvious who has them (no need to mention who, i might get branded as an endorser.... for whatever my endorsement's worth )
i'd personally choose the blueface though...
just an opinion.

Re: Good Base Line
Blueface or Mclean. both hatches have their m0nster powers, Choosing any of those as base line will do.
