Amarican cockers need to get more involved

We need to get more involved with charities and other events like that we need to show the the public that we are not ruthless thugs, we need to organize and have more organizations this would get us in the lime lite instead of on the news

Hold derbies and give proceeds to charity. Whenever or wherever there are calamities be the first one on the scene and make waves, hold a fund raiser for the victims and be sure to invite the press. In short good PR will go a long way to make a good impression to the public at large.

Cockers have been driven underground here in the states, we need to stand up and take the bull by the horns. the only thing that most of the pulic knows about Cock fighting is what the *** tells them. as the old saying goes when the blind leadeth the blind they both shall fall into the ditch. joey has very good ideas, we need to get back in veiw of the pulic in a good way, i dont know where you all are from but when the humae sociaty go into sally gap they showed every red neck in the crowd, and two roosters that could not cut in the drag pit bludgening each other to death. have some charity, events donate to the homeless, feed the hungry, but first and formost encourage adolecence into the sport, dont discourage them, the first chicken that i ever got was the most coward, cold blooded, timber spliter that i have ever seen yet. that could discourage some of the next generation of cockers. if i where to sell some one a chicken that was about the age of 13 and never fought one i would hand pick the best rooster that i could and kind of take them under my wing help them as much as i can. every little thing we do for our sport makes a ripple in the pond and with enough rippled they will turn into waves.

There are statutes and laws govern each state about this. Work with the legal means. Most of the pits here that are being busted are not bec the COCKFIGHTING. It is bec. of the gambling, drinking and illegal drugs activities. Cockfighting is one of America's oldest Passtime. It starts with Discipline. There are still DISCPLINED PITS IN THE US. Reason they are still up and running. No kids, no gambling(visual), no drinking, and no drugs.
Most pit goers I know bust their butt from 6am til night everyday, a fulltime job and their passion, BREEDING. They also do what you had entailed LOCALLY without any big exposure to media. I certainly agree with you sir but it should be done in MICRO approach not macro, start in each other's community. Their neighbors do not interfere because they know there is nothing wrong. The dunghills are being culled for an after church fellowship, manpower in helping the elders in their county, donation of birds for auction purposes wherein the proceeds is to help. It is already happening...Doing it at a MACRO level wont do any good, start in each place you live in.... thanks

Derby for a cause must be promoted in a large scale in order to change the mindset of the general public that it is not only about two roosters fighting for supremacy but to show the complexities of the bloodline that is being produced. The media must be in the center stage or must play a vital role in all its activities in promoting it as a sport. As an example, "Derby for a cause for AVIAN Influenza research" could be one of project of the group. Little by little the oppositions will understand the true essense of this sport.

i agree with swtrhtch1925 we have to start at our level everyone have their own opinion about everything and some agree and some disagree however there will be illegal gambling any where and this doesnt help soc. can we stop it no, gambling is beating that
ou beats tx in the cotton bowl, march madness brackets, a friendly bet between two friends. we do need to have more compassion for our children and how they are raised and live. if you never had a child then you may not understand where im coming from people that are usually animal activist are people without family without children so sure they feel that their pet is number one what they cant realize is if *** had their choice they would eliminate pets all together. look at us today see how many problems we are have we buy everything from around the world because our farmers have drove out of business

does usa spend everyday outside of usa? billions... when here in us we have children that go to bed at night hungry, we have poor education system. we have large corporation that are monopolized and we are paying what ever price they ask. exxon made two years in a roll the most money due to the fact that gasoline raise and fall at a drop of the bucket no regulation whats so ever. why? well ask congress they will tell you a big fat lie. why is because they have part of their hand in the money bucket. i could go on for hours. if we want to make a difference we need to check the internet find out who in your state is back by ***,h$u$ or any others, vote them out. that is the only way they are the very own people that create these ridiculous bills.

Guys this is all very well said. When do we start? Here are some of my ideas. Keep in mind Louisiana is the only legal state. If we want to continue this sport and this culture we ALL need to pull together. We need to see THE BIG BOYS get involved. And when i mean BIG BOYS im referring to Dink, Bill Morris, NeSmith, East Familiy, Larry Romero, Jumper Family, Red Fox, Blue Fox, Larry Blevins, and etc. Im sure you guys get the big picture. I know i missed some other BIG BOYS and im sorry but this was just an example. Her are some ideas

: Have charity events where % goes to a charity of choice for childern
: Get media invloved
: Have security officers at events to show organization
: Have strict guidlines and stick to them.
: Hold Auctions at pit and monies go again to some charity (have big farms donate chickens)
: Have seminars through out the country to educate us all especially the media and our goverment to show the attention and care we give to our chickens. The financial impact it has in our country which to my estimate it = to millions of dollars,
:Hire good attorneys to help us legalize the sport in some of the big states.
: Have poultry shows offten and have some of the big boys attend to give speaches, autographs, etc.

These are just a few. I know some of you already gave these ideas. So i give you all the credit. However we as a fraternity need to pull togerther and do something that will educate people that we are not bad people as they potraye us to be. I hope some of you guys will pass this to your friends and some of you that know some of these big boys will let them know as well. Remember we made these big boys BIG by buying their fowl. Don't forget to get endorsement from politicians, movie screen personalities, scientist and etc. etc. who are cockfighting enthusiast and advertize them in the form of TV info-mercials. Fast food chicken retailers should be encouraged to pitch in too and say a few positive words to that effect. This gonna be a big tsunami that will hit those *** and **** fools where the sun don't shine. Common folks let's get this ball running and fast.
