Correct administration of SUPPLEMENTS, VITAMINS, INJECTABLES, etc....

This thread was opened hoping that some net members would share their knowledge on the proper administration of supplements, vitamins, injectables, etc based on their experience. One example, Dr Blues AMINOPLEX, by BRECO, Box 56, Cook Springs, Al35052, Warning: Keep out of Reach of Children, for Gamefow Use Onlyl. USE AS DIRECTED.

The problem is, it was given to me without the DIRECTIONS FOR USE. I have not used this injectable before. Based on others experience, it this injectable good for gamefowl? What is the composition? The dosage, etc? What happens to our gamefowl when we use this?

Extract of Nux Vomica:

a. Nux Vomica reaches full blood plasma level within one hour after given to the bird. But, some degree of stimulation does occur after 10 minutes. The active ingredient of Nux Vomica is completely eliminated from the body within 10 hours.

The maximum recommended dose is 10 drops within a 10 hour period.

Directions

Method #1, 5 drops are placed on feed or given by mouth at the morning and evening feedings the last two days of the keep. On the fight day, 7 to 8 drops are given by mouth along with two supercharger capsules at the time of weigh in or at least one hour before competitions. If 5 hours or more have gone by without the bird being called, give 1 supercharger capsule & 1 or 2 drops Nux Vomica just prior to healing, or if ten hours go by without being called you may give 7 to 8 drops again.

Method#2, same as method #1 except skip the dosages given before competition day. This can be done with the injectible and ST formulas also.

Injectible Nux Vomica

Use ¼ cc injected in breast muscle or under skin in morning of last two days odf keep. On competition day, give ¼ cc at weigh in or at least one hour before event. When called, give 1/10 cc before heeling if initial injection was more than 5 hours ago.

ST formula Nux Vomica

Used just like normal Nux Vomica extract, except it is specially formulated for hot weather use only.

Tablets: one tablet every other day for a total of ten tablets starting at the

beginning of a pre-keep or one tablet daily for 10 days starting at the beginning of

a 14 day keep.

Injectible: Initial dose is ½ to 1 cc depending on condition with a follow up dosage

of ¼ to ½ cc weekly until improvement or until day before competition day when

¼ cc is injected in breast muscle regardless of when last injection was given.

Liquid Dropper Bottle: give 6 to 8 drops [er bird during the keep, on food or by mouth.

B-15 injectible(night owl method) 50mg/cc: use 1/4cc injected under skin last 2 days of the keep and again 3 to 4 hours prior to start of competition or weigh in time.

B-12 injectible (cyanocobalamin) with or without B-complex

Inject in breast muscle up to 3 times per week. Use approximately ¼ cc for 1000 mcg/cc strength,15/100cc for 3000 mcg or 1/10cc for 5000 mcg/cc strength. Also can be used again approx. 6 to 12 hours before competition.

B-12 injectible(hydroxycobalamin) ¼ cc for 1000 mcg/cc , 1 to 2 times per week and approximately 6 to 24 hours before competition longer lasting than cyanocobalamin, hydroxy last up to 96 hours.

B-15 injectible 250 mg/cc, use 1/10 to 2/10 cc injected under skin last two days of the keep and again 3 to 4 hours prior to start of competition or weight in time.

Caffeine sodium benzoate 1 gr/cc

Use ½ cc injected in breast muscle approximately 15 minutes before competition. Do not use at the same time with other stimulants.

Easy win tablets

Give cock one tablet at least one hour before competition and repeat dosage every 3 to 4 hours until fought, or give one tablet just before heeling with enough water to wash tablet down throat. Use with supercharger to provide extra energy for cock.

i would suggest, before anything else, keep the liver and internal organs in good shape.
All the sups, vits and meds are good and its at peak if the chicken's internal organs are in tip top shape.

One thing that had been working for us after deworming early morning,
1 capsule of Essentiale - oral given at the same day after deworming in the afternoon (you can buy this at Mercury Drug)

This is a human liver supplement but works wonders.
Chickens are easier to manipulate and point. Esp. with all supplements, vitamins and medications. the liver can well take it.

works in flushing/breeding method as well.
broodcocks are more sharp and attentive to their mates.
