Pacquiao Leads Cast In NCA’s Six-Cock Derby
MANILA, Philippines – Boxing sensation Manny Pacquiao leads a team of noted fighting cock breeders in the upcoming National Cockers’ Alliance (NCA) six-cock derby on June 30 at the Ynares Center in Pasig City.
Another star-studded squad who will try to stop the Pacquiao-led team will be bannered by Gerry Ramos and Ferdie Buensalida.
Joining the team of the Filipino boxing icon are Patrick Antonio, former Ilocos Sur Gov. Chavit Singson, Rex “Wakee" Salud, Bong Pineda, Boy Royo and MP Promotions president Eric Pineda.
Fighting with Ramos and Buensalida are Gov. Ito Ynares, Eric dela Rosa, Ruel Ricafort, E. Santos, and brothers Manny and Arman Santos.
Also favored to contend for the championship is the Firefly Group composed of Rey Allas, Ernie Austria and Hessie Mallilin.
Other groups who are joining the event include a team composed of Makati Vice Mayor Nestor Mercado and Lito Orillaza, Ellan Nagaño, Pete Hizon and Boy Mayor, Tonton Uy and Pampanga’s Efren Canlas, Jun Jingco, the Madlangbayan brothers and Jet Fernando.
Competing solo in the event are Elmer Nepomuceno, James Uy, Ricky Reyes, Bebot Roxas, Tony Tan and Tony Marfori.
A 2.0 kilogram minimum and a 2.450 maximum weight limit for the fighting roosters have been imposed by the NCA.
