Re: what are the best exercises or training methods for birds
Rotation is the most effective way of exercise.. from one house to another cock house.. just be carefull of mixing them.

Re: what are the best exercises or training methods for birds
A few push ups, jumping jacks, and jogging are my favorites. No weight training, it makes them muscle bound and slow starters.
Rotation to different pens every couple of hours. Straw pens, manure pens, sun pens, grass pens, fly pens, tie cords and rest stalls. Keep fresh clean water with them.
Get the best, show the best and eat the rest.

Re: what are the best exercises or training methods for birds
I always see some handlers using the catch cock for training the reflexes of their chicken. The oldest method is the massage. Just hold your chicken and massage every part of your chicken. I think it releases stress from the chicken as well as the handler.
Swimming is also good of your farm have the source of water. Let your chicken swim against the shallow current. It will exercise the feet and wings.

Really, I let my fighting cocks make a score off the hen's behind 3 days before the fight to regain back his composure otherwise your fighting will be rampaging wild before the fight and may lose it focus.

Re: what are the best exercises or training methods for birds
forget gloves, let them experience a little pain so they learn... as for the dumb one that gets his head in there and lose an eye, well, he's probably no good anyway... when it was legal, or when it's in the PI, of course.
now if it's a proven ace, then you want to take the extra caution... he does not needs to learn to respect anything as he already knows it... just needs some excercise.

thats expensive,, we are poor ... we like our fowl to prove their worth in the cockpit ,, not in our own backyard with the expense of own hard work ..

Re: what are the best exercises or training methods for birds
too much rotation can burn up a rooster quick so make sure you pay attention to each rooster. you don't want them digging through the straw and manure the entire day.

Re: what are the best exercises or training methods for birds
I like training and conditioning them while they are young...I find it much easy for them to get use to the method....I try not to get them muscle bound....these birds I have are very good winning lines....Dr. Akosta sold 2 birds to my father while he was still in Guam and that is what we keept the blood as RedFox and the hatch grey have been great fowls....my training exercise though consist mostly for the wings not really into the legs I believe its all about wing power and the looseness of the legs so building muscles in the legs is something I don't do much often.Do you guys think it sounds alright how my method is?

Re: what are the best exercises or training methods for birds
My method & also the method of the bigtime buddies, tested and proven:
1. “Sampi”
2. “ Catch cock”
3. “hide technique” – one rooster hide to ur back other rooster at ground, surprise suddenlly
Try to reach out the rooster at the ground. This method makes ur cock
More agility & good eyesight, and make ur rooster advantageous during
Releasing ur rooster.
4. “ work out table” – sitting, press up down, flip up wings, leg extension, etc………..
5. “ rotation method” – flying fence, teepee, scratch pen, pakaskas, keeping. Etc………
6. “ hen method” – putting together with the rooster, ir put besides, near.
7. “ rope method” – put the rooster at the rope, make ur rooster legs more stronger….
8. “ Spar” – spar ur rooster up to two buckles only, not to spar for Long, Spar to different color.
Select the Best only, Cull or Eat the rest………………..
