Mel Sims, Liberty Farm, eustace, texas contact number (903)479-3579 this fella will accomodate you with your inquiry. I got his bloodlines from Hawii in the 80's I still have them in my brood yard. Those are the first Mel sims hatch,
they come in dark red, grn ft and blk w/spotted pearl in color, most of them are not aggressive compare to the MS of today. My MS are multiple shuffler but they know how to wait. no other blood that was infuse to them.

I happened to met Sonny Lagon and I was told that he had bought
a blueface hatch broodcock from Mel that was not suppose to be for sale...
He asked Bruce Barnette to convince Mel to the that particular
blueface hatch. ( dark red straight comb green legged medium station)
The next day Mel sold that particular broodcock to SL for a staggering $2k.
That blueface hatch broodcock is now in San Pablo, Laguna with Joey Lapid.

Mel Sims hatch is just that, Mel Sims hatch. It really is not blueface, the Sims hatch come both pea and straight comb. The straight combed ones look just like a blueface that is why some people will say they are blueface. Story goes Mel got a pair of hatch from a Homer Smith in Alabama I believe. He never got anymore of those birds and all his hatch are descended from that one pair. One of the birds was pea and the other straight combed, that is why they come both ways, they always have. I myself have the old time blood that Tom Hargus breeds, its the same blood Rat Graves has, Rat calls it blueface or Old Mel Sims hatch blood. I have this blood and they are all straight combed, but that's just how I got them. When I was at Tom Hargus place I saw a peacombed stag and pullet of the same blood. Mr Hargus said when Mel gave him the trio, one of the birds (I believe a hen) was peacombed. But they most times come straight comb. The ones I have will come plain red, buff red and lemonhackled. Pullets will be partridge and wheaton, both buff (very light wheaton with gold hackles) and darker red wheatons. Legs also come dark green, slate and willow. They all look like blueface in that they are straight combed, green legged reds. Very good roosters.

For all of you been wanting skinny number the guy bought mel sim out here is his number 817 300 6723 he sell 1100 a trio include shipping. good luck. lucky i got mine direct from mel b4 he got out. then i went back to skinny got myself other trio of his hatch. oh by the way mel sim black is nothing but a hatch black. that is why some of his black does look like a hatch rooster. i know this for the fact that he breed the black into his hatch when he was in california, and the mexican love it. so he continue to breed them that way. i got this information from one of his best friend who live side by side to him when he was in cal.

I was at skinnys this past weekend didn't buy kelsos but they looked great he has a nice set up clean and well mantained very impressed bought a few pullets and will be returning in the future.

If you saw the ones I've raised you would think they're 100% blueface. I also bred them over Bennett BF this year.
