Re: the best billy ruble hatch
Don't know about the best, but Jim Bond (his real name ) of AL has good ones. I think he likes his Rubles with lemon and straightcomb.
He also recently got some tightly inbred Rubles from his neighbor who got them from some well known cocker in AL to refresh his own (I forgot the name). Most of these are red with peacomb... This is how I like my Hatch to look, so I ask him to let me have one to try with my Harold Browns.
Jim does not have the internet anymore, but if you contact Sweetwater in Gamerooster.com, he can put you in touch. They are good friends.
Here are the pics of the stag I got from him.

Re: the best billy ruble hatch
If you want the authentic Ruble hatch, go to Baumgardner as he has some of Ruble's best fowls, but be prepare to spend big bucks.

Re: the best billy ruble hatch
The Philippine breeder who maintained the best billy rubble fowls is Eddie Araneta of Liza Galore. He still got them pure and infuses them to his Dan Grays and sweater fowls.

Newtogame2 has pointed you in the right direction. Jim and good friend Joe L. got the real deal. Joe's an active member of UGBA and AGBA and I'm sure they'll be more than willing to help you out any way they could. If you're really interested, pm me and I'll give you Joe's contact info. Good luck!

I paid $175 for him, incl shipping but I live in the US. Jim's price is very affordable. He also sent me a pair of Hamlin asils, about 14 months old, for $250 incl. shipping a few months back... True authentic asils... I know this is off the subject of Ruble hatch, but check out the pullet, now with 8 chicks.

no, i only bought this cock to try with my Harold Brown hatch family. My Harold Browns actually have better body, but I like the feathers on this rooster... I think they are both power type, so I probably won't improve much on performance, but maybe I will...

that's what Jim said Sweetwater told him too, but later he told me his neighbor told him something else: a blend of Hatch and Claret that Mr. Ruble kept winning with, breeding back to the green-legged side... who knows...

probably can, but the Hamlins are good for crossing with Americans for steel. Jim has been doing well with his "Greysils"... I'm going to cross them to my Regular Grey next year.
