we usually have simple lunch - people bring a dish or two - or drinks - as usual. nothing grand, just so we have food to partake. kwentuhan, and the roosters are brought to Elorde by the handlers and we are notified if there is a match. since its only 5 minutes away, we have enough time to get there, tie the knives and watch the fights.
For this saturday, we would also welcome those who can bring their fighting birds. just a request to please screen your birds to make sure he has no colds or diarrhea :-) i can put my stags at the back portion and disinfect the rueda after the session but best if no sick or about to be sick birds please :-) or better bring hack birds straight to elorde and leave with the handlers who are already there.

As someone mentioned, our improvements in the knife and camp are only incremental. But the improvement in the food has been by leaps and bounds from our initial pandesal and chizwiz

Not in the picture was Mr Silverio who can just after

Re: Is there a Gamefowl Conditioning Camp (pay) here in Metro Manila Area?
Have fun sIrs and madam. Next time ill make my special kinilaw - but we should be careful about having too much food and distractions. Last time, i missed cheCking up on the birds and their point/condition- something that should never be delegated to assistants hahahhahaha. Now i have no one to blame except myself hahhahaah
So first priority is pointing, next is eating well and last is all the spars, chicken talk and all the banter ;-)

The first pose with bird on your lap reminds me of the front cover photo of Doc Teddy Tanchanco in his book about Gamefowl Conditioning : ) which you are also doing by the way

Re: Is there a Gamefowl Conditioning Camp (pay) here in Metro Manila Area?
While in the Mabuhay Lounge with my wife, a big group of Americans came in and made so much noise, we had to move away. Then we saw some passengers crowding around them to have their pictures taken with the group of very big African Americans and a few very tall caucasians too. Then we were told it was Dennis Rodman and Scotty Pippen and the whole All Star NBA Team ;-) but since we didn't them know we just watched in Amusement. They were also seated next to us in the plane. As we landed in Taiwan, there was a small crowd cheering as they came out with us. So upon exiting customs, with so many people milling around, I decided to take a pic of my wife with them in the background.
Really funny cause we were just seated next to them and they were borrowing the newspapers I was reading cause there was an article about them. Never occurred to us to have pictures taken with them hahahaha. I guess had they been WSC or Candelaria Derby champions or well known cocker/breeders I would have posed with them hahahahaahah

Re: Is there a Gamefowl Conditioning Camp (pay) here in Metro Manila Area?
just finished an excellent Taipei dinner of sharks fin soup and abalone rice with an outstanding pork with leeks and chili , and a very tasty and crunchy stir fried bamboo and mushroom dish. The Golden Top is a small pricey but highly recommended place when you are in Taipei. A great place to condition the cocker and his gaff hahahahahaha. Can't just spoil the birds all the time. We have to treat the Boss of the house with equal if not more love and attention. Or the conditioning camp goes to flames !!!!! Hahahahahahahappy weekend everyone!

Re: Is there a Gamefowl Conditioning Camp (pay) here in Metro Manila Area?
Instead of staying at home on a rainy saturday morning, boxed up n took the stags into the car, played loud music and went for a 45 min drive to Nino Mabantas farm where I met his very supportive wife and friend Atty. Lutero of Ilo ilo. Nice chickentalk while it was raining. Nice cold weather in Silang and the grass was so nice and green!
Happy to get positive feedback on the stag spars, so I had them banded at San Juan Coliseum this morning for what will be the first derby for the season in August.
Thanks to the Ritz management and staff for taking good care of my birds I highly recommend their services

Re: Is there a Gamefowl Conditioning Camp (pay) here in Metro Manila Area?
Here is one of your birds. Just picked him out randomly and he looks very nice and corky!
Almost there!
I'm in the camp and I'm very pleased with the body development, maturity and taming of your stags. I would consider them already at 80 percent physically and the conditioning keep program should stretch them out that last mile.
If fought to same age stags by months end in a hackfight - same height/weight - hindi na madedehado.
Another 3 weeks in a programmed keep and they should have that proverbial snap that's enough to drive the knives into the home run.
Konting swerte lang and they should be very hard to kill. Just empty them and hold them on point.
Good luck gentlemen.
Meanwhile I have two pairs of pure hennies I have to attend to :-)
Best to all,
Jeb

Thanks Mr. Jailbird, considering all your forthcoming derby schedules, how many more borders and clients will you allow to be conditioned at the Ritz? Is this first com first served basis? Are Rodels stags also arriving at the Ritz soon?
I highly recommend bringing stags for sparring in a new farm, like Ninos. The play really comes out because of different fighting styles.
I told Nino when my banded birds arrive in August, we will do it again and spar his banded stags. Last saturday we sparred all non banded stags.

If Rodel's stags get banded for SJC AND PASAY, they will be the last i will accept for the season. I will need to allocate some banded stags for the finals if these stags qualify. Thats because of the rule that screened stags are only for the elims while the finals requires legit banded stags.
By Mid Sept, i will need to join the RGBA and UCBA Stag series. And will also need to prepare for the Bakbakan elims - i plan to field 4 entries. Still open for financiers of 2 bakbakan entries ;-)
Will also keep an eye for events with large purses. I plan to sell off all winners and unfought stags by November/December in a big yard sale ;-) well all that wont fit in my molting area anyway. Except maybe for what will be kept for the bulang bulang. But thats just a handful.
