Santiago posts record 9 straight wins

COCKER-SPORTSMANSHIP Jun Santiago's dark roundheads wiped out the opponents by piling a record nine consecutive voctories in as many fights during the opening round of the NCA 7-Cock Derby Tuesday night at the Araneta Coliseum. The championship round (4-cock) starts at 6pm with more than 50 encounter s lined up. Santiago's winning rampage started when two of his bets, firefly Thunderbird 13 and Belagio GC,posted 6 wins early on, his other entry , firefly 14 ( in partnership with Patrick Antonio ) completed the rout by adding three more wins. Joining Santiago in the winner's circle are Gov. Ito Ynares (BinangonanBalbina), two-time world champion William Go (Golf Cup Colorado Sundace Mapalad ) and the jimafer group (Jimafer JVL PBRJ) with three wins each.Meanwhile, the second leg of the NCA 7-Cock Derby will resume on jan. 11.
