World Slasher Cup 2012: Free Entrance to Foreigners!

In a move to further boost tourism, organizers of this year’s World Slasher Cup are giving free admission to all foreigners who can present their passports.

Held twice a year, and regarded as the “Olympics of Cockfighting”, 2011 World Slasher Cup defending champions, Patrick Antonio, Boy Jiao, Ito Ynares and Rikki Reyes are expected to field their best game fowls in action-packed hostilities at the Big Dome from January 16 to 22.

Among the top notch breeders in the roster are Roger Roberts (Georgia) , Ray Alexander (Alabama), Kali Casco (Hawaii), Larry Romero, Jason Campbell, Sedfrey Linsangan (Guam), Jorge “Goy” Goitia (California), Zosimo Antivo (Las Vegas), Clarence Perkins (Kentucky), Mike Formosa (Hawaii), Greg Berin (Australia), Jorge Torres (Californina), Zaldy Sandoval (California), Tony Ang (Taiwan), Chris Casilan (Hawaii), Rodel Costales (California), Jeff Hudspeth (California), Randy Hall (Texas), Tyrone Kennedy (Alabama), Mike Formosa (Hawaii), Peter Uren (Australia), Martin Barla & Jose Carcillar (Chicago).

The action at the Big Dome is heightened even further with the Giant Cube or the giant four-sided LED screen hung at the center of the coliseum. Cockfighting aficionados will see the action unfold in amazingly vivid picture clarity and unbelievable angles from the Giant Cube. The Giant Cube boasts of the distinct feature of 10-millimeter pixel pitch projected from four sides and is the biggest indoor system in the country rivaling even the system installed in the Dallas Cowboys Stadium that has a 20-millimeter pitch.

appreciate the gesture pero just want to clear up something. When you say you let foreigners in for free, is it just the general admission part and not the ringside part??

maybe the "balikbayans" should be offered free admission also..

When they say foreigner. It means people with foreign passport. Doesn't matter what race you are.

In the past,OFW and balikbayan has a free gen admission ticket.Pupunta muna kayo sa yellow gate yata to submit your passport at xerox pa yata nila bago kayo issuehan ng ticket......

General admission? Whew, lots of mananabit and pickpockets in that section of Araneta. Foreigners beaware. Hard to gamble over there and you need a telescope to see the chickens fighting. I would rather pay than avail of that free admission!

base on my exprience.....me and my wife sat on the bleachers......not worth it ....next time gonna pay for ringside view......pero kahit nasa taas ay makakapusta ka pa rin kahit 20 k per fyt.....

Naku po eh nuong araw na magsabong ako sa Araneta sa bleachers eh isang daan lang na pusta ko eh nawala pa yung kapustahan ko. Parang bula na naglaho ng lumingon ako sa likod.

Nakakawalang gana magsugal pag ganon diba? Sabagay siguro naman ay gumagamit ka ng kristo kapag nagsugal ka sa bleacher kaya kahit 20K ay kayang kaya mo makuha. Mga walang kwarta ang nanduon sa bleacher kaya yung pusta mong 20K ay malamang na sa lower box pa nila isinusugal.

whites only! i think they should also put segregation seats so the white masters of the aranetas dont mix with the natives! do not watch this event just wait for the DVD, the policies of this coliseum is outright discriminating, they charge you P500 and make you stand up, they dont even have any bleachers for everyone, yeah sometimes you can sit ringside if its empty but once the so called "VIP's" start coming in they kick you out! we have to fight this types of tourism which cheapens our national heritage, this need that was imposed on our nation, because we are poor, why because they made us poor thru debts that were imposed on us! be an angry native! magalit tayo mga kapatid! mabuhay tayong mga pilipino at ang ating bansa! mamatay na ang mga kaaway ng lahi at kanilang mga ahente! ngayon na! hindi bukas!
