Email was hacked into

My email was hacked into this mourning!!!

Checked my email & had a bunch of sent mail that was not sent by me!!!

If any of you got an email from me that was forwarded just delete it & do not open it!!!

was it hacked or something like a spam/trojan/virus that sends emails automatically? one of my web based email (yahoo) had the same problem some time ago... sent multiple spam emails... or were the emails sent were actual emails like a letter/message to someone?

maybe some of our tech savvy cockmates here can give us a way to solve this problem... I have updated symantec protection on all my pc and laptop but still happened coz the email was in the email server of yahoo I think...

Yup, that is what is happening. Emails are goung out and i am not sending them!

have you tried using HOTSPOT shield sir jim?a secure VPN gateway to access the web?sometimes im having difficulties logging in to my account in YMAIL even if im putting in the correct credentials...the only thing that i can thinks off is a keylogging device/software that can pull out passwords and stuff...or might be a PEER 2 PEER connection also wherein the main server collects the DATA's of the user and then they will be able to see all the info's...maybe im not sure sir...if you search under google there is a HOT TOPIC there about hacking and is already being investiagated by YAHOO personnels...might wanna find a secure gateway connection sir JIM...i dont recommend just any random proxy websites because sometimes the anonimity is quite questionable..go for premium proxy because they can guarantee the safeness/security of your browsing experience...hope it gets better and fixed ASAP...

I would suggest to chance your Password and username and remove your hard drive for 15 min. This also happens to couple Of my friends and seems like happening more often. Hope it helps

My wifes email sends out messages advertizing different items to everyone in her contact list. It even filtrated to my email list of contacts. Took my computer to my tech and he said there is only one way to stop it.....change email addresses which we did and solved the problem. Sad but true....you cant stop it with virus protection.....it overides the protection.

sometimes links causes them..you will receive an email saying that you have to click this and that and will prompt you to a fraudulent website...sometimes its called as a phising email/spoof email...we tackled this kind of fraudulent act in my previous company because some customer's financial accounts are being hacked into...so please be careful on clicking on links specially those that are sent through spam and sometimes to your inbox's...if you received emails on your spam emails coming from africa just ignore them ,they will say you have to give your credentials/personal info's etc and will reason out that he/she doesnt have an account and is willing to partner up with you to claim his/her inheritance...if the situation persist the best solution is to really change emails....P.S. for spoof emails please delete it automatically cause it might cause an accident ,,
