2 decades ago ray`s roundhead were popular
but there were complaints from buyers that ray`s roundhead would sulked and not pecking when it would come into longhaul dragfight.ray later infused some claret blood and since then they are dead game.
it`s up to you if you like his straight bred roundhead.

jim gregg posted this in gamerooster.net
i am also tracking the history of roundheads.......specially the george woods line........and the ones ben ford fought in ole days.
jim traced this bloodline of roundheads from george woods.
bull neck, short tailed.they would call them in ole days as the "hummingbirds".

All of the above are good.....
...........and in addition, check out Mr. Jim Clem Jr.. He has some really nice high stationed Roundheads that seem to be made for long knife derby. Good luck, no matter from where you chose.

Ray,
Just curious about your roundheads' fighting style. Some of the the roundheads I've seen nowadays are not the typical flyers anymore instead they mix with the opponent to death.Your info is much appreciated.

roundheads
you guys are forgetting the best in my opinion.
dan gray
i got mine direct from dan and even got to hold his world slasher cup while at his place. (lol) big deal for a country boy like me.
seriously, they got great station, power and are as game as any fowl i have ever owned. 15 wins, 2 losses this season so far using the crosses. i have eleven pure ones i plan on fighting later in the year.

Frank Ellis Roundheads
Ellisgamefarm,
I know someone who got it straight from Mr. Frank. In fact, he is blending it with the George Woods straightcombed Lacys. He is a Bama boy like you. PM or give me an e-mail.
Joe,
Dan's are basically Brunners. Another disciple of the late Wendell Loveday has them too. I supposed he also breeds for Joe Wolcott. Joe fights his Brunners crossed to Whitehackles in the knife.

hey hoosier
you are correct, i knew wendell for many years, grew up watching him fight on the hard ground. the diciples you spoke of would probably be larry whitehead and jeff torbett. they both feed for and fight with joe wollcott (ive never had the pleasure of meeting joe), but jeff is one of my best friends. he has gave me some great fowl and some knowledge i consider priceless. super good fowl, even better people. i always pull for those boys when they go to sunset and usually travel with jeff when we both are showing in the same meet on the hard ground, he likes sk, and im a gaff man. so it works out good, i dont ever have to meet the tough son of a gun. lol

doonsan: you are correct, most of the round heads I see today are mutch more agressive, and not as smart as the old blood round heads. When George Woods saw my brood cock, his exact words were ( Ray that is what the old round heads looked like.)

Frank Ellis Roundhead
Thanks for the info. Troy . Sonny is a friend of mine and my mentor . He has tought me almost everything I know about breeding gamefowl . I have all of his bloodlines including the roundheads and plan on maintaining them all . When I got the Franks from him he told me they were very inbred but I did'nt care , they can fight like hell . I'm trying to find someone else who has them so I can keep the straight Frank blood . Sonny has started blending George Woods RH into them to keep his going but i'd rather go a different route , the Frank blood is scarce nowadays , i'm trying to keep it "pure" . YFIS , Scott
