brother & sister mating

As far as I know, brother and sister mating is the shortest way in making seedfowls. I just heard this from a breeder friend.
Anybody there? correct me if I'm wrong. I also want to know what is true

once breed in you cannot breed out . . .

minimize if not totally remove

ofcourse we're talking about the
unwanted traits (imho)

Ace could you post where the information can be had on the gentleman who did the 47 years of inbreeding. Im am interested in knowing how he knew there was a mutation. and also how this would affect hybrid vigor.

Ace, Mr Siegels theory is on line. The most important reason for mutitation is for the survival of a species. A species will usualy adapt or change before it goes extinct. Most bad effect of indreeding are caused by bad selection of man. In nature animals and birds will not do this.

i'm very pleased with the way you guys are giving the right info to us. i'm just a beginner backyard breeder ang i hope i will have success with kind of "brother-sister" mating.

last question though, what if the broodfowls you are going to use is not pure or they are crosses??? is brother-sister also applicable???

Nature makes its selection thru the Alpha male and Alpha female, as in the case of the wolf packs and hyenas. The dominant male and female of the group won't allow other members to have offsprings.

Ace & Rayboles

Your posts are really scientific and very detailed as well. It really fascinated me and gave me more courage to push through on my breeding endeavour.

I'm a professional but I'm so open-minded. I always seek and heed not only some of the professional's opinion, but also the experienced laymans. Because I believe, there are so many good ideas, procedures, and techniques that are not yet written in the book of knowledge.

Thumbs up Inbreeding!

Hello everyone:

Nice to see that so many are interested in this breeding method.

Ace and Ray Boles have pretty much said all that needs to be said concerning this method.

Selection is definitely the key to bringing forth the very best specimine. This will also put the cull ratio to it's lowest possible %.

Breeding of two tightly inbred families that have your desired traits will also raise the % of vigorous hybred crosses for battle.

Best of luck to each one in their efforts to improve your fowl.

Most Respectfully:

Cliff King

ive heard that you will get one exceptional bird out of 50, but that one bird will be much worth it. just dig yourself a big hole on culling day
